Almost the whole class
“Before the lunches, half my class was in the fields by October. This year almost all of them stayed.”
Shazia has taught Year 4 in the same village school for nine years. Every autumn she watched children disappear to help with the harvest.
Since the school joined the lunch programme, attendance in her class has not dropped below 90 percent. The cooks are mothers from the village.
